Mission
The Illinois Association of Colleges of Nursing (IACN) serves the public interest by promoting excellence in nursing education and
by preparing baccalaureate and higher degree professional nurses who are highly
qualified to meet current consumer needs and plan for future needs in an evolving
health care system.
Vision
The IACN is dedicated to forming collaborative relationships and alliances that advance
professional nursing education, research, practice, and leadership. This group provides
the leadership needed to define the benchmarks for excellence in baccalaureate and
higher degree nursing education while shaping its emergence as the predominant type
of professional nursing education.
Values
The activities within the strategic plan will reflect the dynamic and changing events
within nursing education and the healthcare environment. Ongoing attention will
be directed toward IACN’s core philosophy:
